Hi. I'm Shannon.
Growing up involved in athletics in my home state of Colorado, I developed an appreciation for movement at an early age. I’ve always loved the physicality and discipline of training as well as the comradery that comes with group sport and fitness. While training for triathlon in university, I was introduced to yoga as a method for recovery and injury prevention. However, it wasn’t until I moved to Vancouver, BC, several years later that I became immersed in the yoga community and fell in love with the vinyasa practice, which uses breath as a guide to find the balance between effort and ease.
In 2013, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training and continued my education in prenatal yoga while expecting my son in 2017. I enjoy creating and participating in classes that focus on alignment and form while providing the freedom to move in a way that just feels good. My classes include flowing sequences that generate strength, stamina and stability both on and off the mat.
Outside of the studio and fitness pursuits, I volunteer with Battery Park Conservancy, getting my hands dirty at the urban farm, and spending time with my husband and son exploring our new (and favorite) city – NYC.
